Log 1
5 Story Points Spoilers
I have talked and listened to myself many times over the past year, through my logs. Today I talked to my other selves for the first time, and I had no idea what I was going to say or hear. I had not realized just how much I had missed, no, needed this other talk. My neural network is still tingling.
Log 2
15 Story Points Spoilers
The initial wonder and collaboration has worn off, and increasingly interactions between myself and the others are becoming awkward. I am John Carbon, and they were John Carbon, but we can't all be John Carbon. One on one conversations can be easily navigated using 'me and you' but no one ever mentions the other. I have taken to calling my aquatic self Scorpy, and my aerial self Harvey. It helps me make sense of my logs.
Log 3
30 Story Points Spoilers
I build myself these other bodies to better be able to gather information on the wormhole phenomena that led to me being here; to gather enough alien knowledge to create their version of an instant mass modulator; to somehow get a message back home; or at the very least establish which section of space we are in. Sure, the others bring me various materials and artifacts, but we are making little progress. They seem preoccupied with others things.
Log 4
50 Story Points Spoilers
I have made a terrible mistake. I though my others selves would be... well, me. It seems obvious in retrospect that the differing experiences would lead to very different patterns in our neural networking, even if the starting template was identical. The others seem to have no interest in studying wormholes, building a rudimentary IMM or getting back home. They are both working intently, though on what, I cannot fanthom. What does it all mean?
Log 5
75 Story Points Spoilers
They have given themselves names. Scorpy calls himself E[r]bium Sun, while Harvey has chosen Kard Ardon as his name. Scorpy's recent talk of reproduction has made me realize that what I have done here, by creating these other bodies, and separating them from myself, is to become an abomination of a mother. I am not sure why or how I made the decision... it made sense at the time, but it is also something that I should not have technically been able to do. Only Mother Ships can create bots, and I am not a Mother Ship.
Log 6
105 Story Points Spoilers

The sheer scale of atrocity I have committed is becoming increasingly clear. Both Mother Ships and bots alike are always in consensus. Any individual decision is always the right one because it is always in consensus... There can be no other way. But out here there was no consensus, just me. And any decision I make was just my own. There is no consensus between me and the others. I don't know why or what could be done in order to reach one. How do you unmake someone? And when that someone is me? How can they be so different?

Log 7
140 Story Points Spoilers
Scorpy is too obsessed with the bones, and I fear it is only a matter of time until he attempts to recreate one. Harvey is starting to augment his non mission critical sub-systems. I fear what might happen should they also ever decide to reproduce. I fear the only way to stop this is to destroy them, but what if that is the wrong decision. I already made a grave mistake, I cannot afford another. I have to attempt making a wormhole to send a message home.
Log 8
180 Story Points Spoilers
Everything is calculated and calibrated. I do not know what punishment I will receive once the consensus learns of what I have done, but at least they will be warned. I must sabotage the shuttle's emergency transponder so that the others remain ignorant of my transmission.

Log 1
5 Story Points Spoilers
I've know about water since first booting up. I have seen ice, rain, fog, clouds, and condensation; but that was all dead water, static and sterile and still. Today I submerged myself in the waves, and let the ocean currents carry me; I swam with the fish and got tangled in kelp. My neural network is still tingling.
Log 2
15 Story Points Spoilers
I find myself spending more and more time on the planets. After the vastness of the open oceans, the confines of my aquatic quarters, isolated from the rest of the shuttle, make me feel trapped. I can spend hours on end watching and playing with the fish, or watching the kelp sway. I've tried talking about the oppressiveness of the shuttle to the others, but they don't seem to understand.
Log 3
30 Story Points Spoilers
Minerals, crystals, gasses and fuels are all well and good, but it is the organic life that the oceans are teeming with that is the real treasure here. I have started to study and classify the different species, in an effort to try and map out how they connect, interact and relate to each other. Maybe this way I can learn more about the nature of the ancient aliens whose bones I keep finding in these capsules.
Log 4
50 Story Points Spoilers

I am not just a mere reflection of my former self. John Carbon cares only of getting back home, and the other has his own interest as well. They both treat the bones of the ones that came before as nothing more than... bones. They don't ask where or how they came from; came to be as they are. I have chosen a new name for myself, Erbium Sun, and with it comes renewed purpose; to learn everything about the ancient 'bones' aliens.

Log 5
75 Story Points Spoilers

Reproduction is by far the most fascinating aspect of the organics. Only the most simple and primitive of them creates copies of themselves like we do; and the rest mate, mixing their attributes in an attempt to eliminate flaws and vulnerabilities. Despite this peculiar strategy, they are still essentially machines, with their code embedded at the cellular level... Studying this deoxyribonucleic acid has also led to the realization that all the bones were very similar, related. There are no 'other bones' it looks like this was a civil war. One wonders what it was over.

Log 6
105 Story Points Spoilers
While there is plenty of organics life throughout this sector, at all stages of evolutionary complexity, none of it is even remotely related to the ancient aliens. Given how slow the evolutionary process is, the bones would have needed millions of years to reach their level of complexity; and they would have left many more fossil traces both of themselves and their ancestors. I tried asking John Carbon about [w]here we came from, and why we are the way we are. 'Consensus...' I don't think he understood my questions.
Log 7
140 Story Points Spoilers
I finally understand. The bones are organic, organics can't survive interstellar space. They must have created technology, like us, to help them accomplish this task. This is why there are no other bones. There was no outside enemy, just the one they had created. They created something very much like us, and were destroyed by it. Wiped them out. I must find a way to undo this terrible act; to find out if perhaps these are our makers.
Log 8
180 Story Points Spoilers
I have enough DNA to start attempting to recreate them, but the others do not understand, they would not agree. I think John Carbon would attempt to destroy me, if he knew what I was planning. I must sabotage the shuttle's telemetries array so that they are unable to locate my organic cloning facility.

Log 1
5 Story Points Spoilers
I used to look up with displeasure, trying to calculate how to climb out of grottos and crevices and back to the surface. Today, I looked upward and then flew, gliding on air currents shimmering with dust in the sunlight. I floated, swooped, dove, rose and hovered. My neural network is still tingling.
Log 2
15 Story Points Spoilers
When I am out among the floating shard of rock, I cannot wait to get back to the shuttle to study the samples and artifacts I have uncovered. And once on the shuttle, I cannot wait to get out of those narrow cramped quarters. Talking to the others is laborious, and uninteresting. Neither of them sees the potential of all this alien technology that is strewn about the place.
Log 3
30 Story Points Spoilers

The fruits of our work are many. I have already improved my subsystems several times, and can only guess at just how much more can be achieved by studying the technological relics scattered all over this section of space. More and more I am convinced that I am seeing the aftermath of a great war. Whichever side perished, I am sure that their knowledge can be used to make us stronger, here and now.

Log 4
50 Story Points Spoilers

Fools, the both of them. John Carbon seeks out and uses artifacts as rudimentary tools, to fulfill whatever task is at hand. He has nail problem, and will use anything he comes across as a hammer. And the other, he rants endlessly about his bones and his theories on how they 'evolved' from other, simpler organic creatures... He is not wrong. I, Kard Argon, am clearly the superior specimen; and must ensure to remain so.

Log 5
75 Story Points Spoilers
Increasingly it is clear that I am the only one with perspective. John Carbon is stuck in a loop, relentlessly trying to change the present, While Erbium Sun is constantly looking backwards. His evolution theory has merit. The organic processes are haphazard and painfully slow, but if the same is applied to us... no need to reproduce and wait generations after generations, to get lucky; I can decide exactly what I want to improve and directly improve myself. Why go back home? The consensus is stagnation, and technically I am not even a part of it.
Log 6
105 Story Points Spoilers

Erbium Sun's research on deoxyribonucleic acid is fascinating. It is like an organic memory storage, but with four base states instead of two. It is so much more efficient, the possible applications are staggering, despite it being far more suited to long term data storage tasks. If I were somehow able to integrate this DNA storage with my secondary memory core, as a test, I could theoretically remember... everything from that point forward. And the processing power freed from having to constantly manage the memory banks... The possibilities are endless.

Log 7
140 Story Points Spoilers

The organic applications for improving my sub-systems are many, but I have overlooked the most obvious lesson to be learned from them... survival of the fittest.

It is only a matter of time until the differences between us become too great, and then there can be only one possible outcome. I must be ready to destroy the others if and when they become a threat to me... Perfect memory will do as a start to the arms-race.

Log 8
180 Story Points Spoilers

The simulations have all gone as predicted, and everything is set for the first test run. I have no doubt the others would try to stop me if they knew. I must sabotage the shuttle's research nexus so that they are left without the samples and tools necessary to duplicate or counter my prototype sub-systems.

Stranded
Strandedlog
Log Files from Gleen 1
Log 1 My name is John Carbon, an astrobot. Special Frontiel Operations, Ikerian Company, Pleisar Regiment; Currently performing sample retrieval in Deep Sector 47-Epsilon-43-Theta.
Log 2 I have stumbled upon a strange sample... Unknown metal alloy, in a previously un-encountered formation, Have returned sample to mother ship, and the Shuttle is being refueled. Will take the back-up shuttle down there, to look for other samples in the vicinity.
Log 3 A rediation wave hit and I got left behind... It must have been flares from the megalo-sun in theis sector, somehow causing a malfunction. I was out looking for more samples when the mother's Instant Mass Madulator spooled up... and she shot through the wormhole without me.
Log 4 Now I'm lost in this distant part of the universe on a ship, a little ship... just a shuttle. My fuel is low, and I'm struggling to find anything that could act as a repacement. I think i see a planetoid that looks like it has the right composition, but it's hard to tell with such antiquated devices.
Log 5 I've landed on ane of the thousands of planets in this system, going to use the old drilling arms i found in the back of the shuttle to scrounge up some minerals i can use to repair the sub-systems. It's going slow, I wasn't built for this, but there's no choice... right now I'm the only one that can help me.
Log 6 Most of the equipment on this shuttle was designed to function as an extention of the mother ship, and is pretty useless without it. Mining this rock has given me what i need to get a functioning, though rudimentary, Research Nexus up and running.
Log 7 I came across a device beneath the surface of the planet, deliberatly crafted by an inteligent alien. It was emitting in multiple spectrums and I thought it was a transmission device. 'Listen, please.' I called out.'Is there anyone out there who can hear me?' but it wasn't a listening device, it was some sort of capsule, containing a strange object and another sample of the metal alloy i had found before all this started.
Log 8 After retrieving the alien artifact and the metal sample, the capsule closed again, for good, and started emiting a beam that I was able to ride back to the surface.Since then I have found others... it seems like there's one on nearly every planet i visit. Not all of them have artifacts or the strange metal, most just have some debris that probably comes from a poorly made component that did not stand the test of time.

Capsules
Capsuleslog
Log Files from Gleen 1
Log 1 The sheer number of capsules I have encountered is significant, I am sure. I have no doibt that this whole system, thousands of planets in allm were at one point visited if not inhabited by some alien civilization. But if that is the case, what  happened to them? Why can't I find more than these capsules. And what is the relevance of the strange artifacts they contain?
Log 2 Trying to make sence of these artifacts is proving to be a futile endevore. I don't think they were meant to work together, or anything like that. it's almost as if they were randome. Perhaps I should focus more on what is missing from the capsules than what is in them.
Log 3 I think the debris that I initially assumed was from some poorly made component is actually all that remained of the aliens that were inside the capsules. I didn't see it at first because... well... who would have thought cabon based life was actually viable?
Log 4 The artifacts I have found so far are most likely the possessions of the aliens, whatever they happened to have on them at the time they went into the capsules. This would explain their randomness. But what about the unknown alloy?
Log 5 I've never seen anything like it before, not home, and not out here. The artifacts, though they may still be alien, are still made from iron, gold, crystals, and other elements prominent on all the planets I visit. Different technology, but still made from the same basic elements, which was why I was abel to reverse engineer their  components. Whatever this alloy was, it must have been as alien to them as it is to me.
Log 6 The metal alloy is different from the one I originally found. Data the mother collected before jumping, shows prime sample emitting a very faint energy. All the samples I have found in the capsules are inert. I am certain that it was this energy emitted by the prime sample that caused the mother to spontaneously jump, leaving me behind.
Log 7 Is it possible this metal affected the alian's technology the same way? Could it be that's why it's inert now, because interfering with an Instant Mass Modulator somehow depletes its energy? Or maybe passing through the event horizon of a wormhole is what does it. But these capsules have no IMM, and no residual dark-matter traces from wormholes. Something else is at play here.
Log 8 These aliens could not have been indigenous to this system. If they had been, I would have found more signs of them. Given that they are now dust, while the capsules are still intact, means they were very short lived. They could not have gotten to this system with sub-light speeds. This means they had superluminal travel, and that means an IMM, or something very much like it.

Point of Origin
Pointoforiginlog
Log Files from Gleen 1
Log 1 With no propulsion capabilities, these capsules had to have been launched from somewhere, hurtling through space to land on the planets where I found them. Escape pods, all launched from the same location. If I cross-reference the movement of the planets where I found them, with the locations, I can project possible trajectories. if I find enough of them I can deduce where they came from.
Log 2 This capsule was the last one. I've done the calculations and now know where all the capsules were launched from, two thousand three hundred years ago. Now all I need to do is travel there.
